What it’ll actually cost you
Roughly how much paper goes through your business a month?
An item is one thing Sterling reads and takes on: a receipt, an invoice, a bank line, a contract. Nudge the slider and it’ll tell you which plan is cheapest — including if that’s the small one.
Items a month
320 items
At 320 items a month you want Working, at about £29.00 + VAT a month. The highlighted row is the cheapest estimate at this volume; your Billing page shows a live projection from your actual item count.
The fine print, in English
Questions people actually ask.
What counts as an item?
One document or line Sterling reads and takes on: a receipt you text over, a purchase invoice, a bank transaction, a supplier contract. If it reads the same receipt twice, you're charged once.
What counts as a filing?
A VAT return, a self assessment, a set of accounts, a payroll RTI run — prepared and checked, ready to send. Sterling gets it filing-ready; you review it and file it yourself on the HMRC or Companies House portal. First 50 includes one filing prepared each quarter; Working includes VAT and year-end filings; Full ledger includes all filings for all entities.
Really unlimited businesses?
Really. Run six side ventures on one login if you like. You're billed on the items across all of them, not on how many companies you happen to own.
What if I have a huge month?
The billing page shows your item count and a live projection against the published tiers, so you can see the estimate change as the month does.
Can I stop?
Any month, with one text. You keep every document and every ledger entry — exported clean, in the formats a normal accountant expects.
Is there a free trial?
The first fortnight is watch-only and free. It reads everything, files nothing, and shows you what it found. Most people carry on after seeing week one.
